ARTIST OF THE WEEK - MAURIZIO SAVINI

Born in Rome, Maurizio Savini studied architecture at the university “La Sapienza” in Rome. He makes chewing gum sculptures. Click HERE for more pics & info...



Maurizio Savini participated at various collective exhibitions in London and Paris and was also present at the FIAC 2003 with the gallery Olivier Houg. In 2005 Maurizio Savini was awarded a two-months-scholarship for the "Cité internationale des arts" by the city of Paris: his artistic contribution consisted in a permanent wall painting for the childrens's hospital Necker and the personal exhibition Tres jolie... la petite maison de pommes de terre in the "Cité internationale des arts".

This is AWESOME! I realized that art can be whatever you want it to be, through your eyes, but Maurizio has MAD skills. When you can make "art" out of "just" gum alone that is definitely unique. I adore the bear, alligator and porcupine. Neat.

Kanye, I'm sure its old hat to the art connoisseur that you are, however.. I'm a big fan of Rob & Nick Carter, go to their website and check that shit out. You like all the lighting effects and stuff that I do so check that out and post it, if its cool enough... obviously...

I love how true artists can see art in ANYTHING, and turn it into a picture of beauty. This guy turns chewing gum into a work of art, and look at his work...awesome. My favorites are the bear looking at the peephole, and the man looking up out of the can...

Nothing is weirder then the photo exhibit I saw as a young one of at the Miami Art Museum. They had a russian roulette photo document. Hes still alive. that f*cked me up as a little kid, lol.
