It's a visual aesthetic approached and the 2 different parts would be best by putting them together using Ultrasonic welding, an industrial technique whereby high-frequency ultrasonic acoustic vibrations are used to weld objects together, usually plastics, and especially for joining dissimilar materials.

I can just pick up my fish bowl, walk around with it and call it my "portable fish bowl." Why I need this? LOL I been done had a portable fish bowl. Back in the 80s.
