HARPER'S BAZAAR..... I DON'T HAVE A PAINTING OF MYSELF AS AN ANGEL

To put it short as Kanyely possible(don't mean to speak in third person).... Harper's Bazaar came to my home, took pics, asked a lot of questions and then assumed the painting in my dining room was of me as an angel. This isn't true and it bothered me greatly because people think I'm so so so cocky that I would have something like that. I'm sure it was an inside joke to everyone from the magazine in my home that day. People would come over my house after that and say, " I heard about this pic of you as an angel!" I would have appreciated if Harper's Bazaar would have put in some type of blurb to clear it up. I wanted people to see my home because I spent 2 years gutting it and was proud. I'm just a regular guy with cool stuff in his crib but instead I was made out to be Ben Stiller's character in the movie 'Dodgeball' with the huge pic of himself wrestling a bull in his office. Why didn't they write that my house had no pics of me, no plaques or awards, just art.

I guess it's bittersweet, you spend half your life trying to become larger than life and the other half trying to just live a real life again.

I remember seeing this actually.that would probably be one of the most corny things anyone could ever have done.i understand what you're saying...in fact i was looking you up on yahoo and came across endless comments about you being arrogant,cocky, selfish (i don't have to list them because you know yourself what they are)
It's such a shame that you have been painted this way.
It's like people tried to to get to know you so quickly that they don't actually get to know you.its as if they took your first word and pinned that down as being you...but then when the second word comes along and its completely different it upsets them and leads them to view you the way they do.
i don't mean to go all deep and dick riderish.im just saying i understand.

I know I have been blowing up your blog posts with wanting more info - The humility you had during the Q & A and the Inspiration that led up 2it is incredible.

Man realistically though...it's not so much that people are out to tear you down and that's why they say you're cocky, but some....no A LOT of things you say in public does come across as excessivly hubris. You may as well be a great, cool, guy but part of the treatment you get from people thinking you're cocky is because of some of your moments.. It's kind of like if everytime you talk this one person his breath always stinks... after awhile you just start to assume his breath will always stink, thus you avoid getting too close..even though his breath may be fine...it's just what you're accustomed to getting from this person. Plus another reason people may think you're cocky or at least uber conceited is that you whine a lot about stuff man...like you were really mad about Bonaroo and that's cool because it's your craft, but son there are way more volatile issues in this world to rant about...your set takes a hella long time..it was an hour at GITD in my city...

I guess its easier for us who are not in the spotlight to come up with different quotes, cliches and words of encouragement. But to be honest, there is no comparison - u live in a world where we can NOT relate. At times ur mind is going faster than u can articulate but one thing I have noticed in my fame-Less life is not 2 take other people with me. Like I went to the DMV (I hate that place) and the pple are so snotty and attitudy, I use come in there with an attitude and one lady would say something crooked 2me that would shake my whole day. 5 hours later, im still upset .... then someone asked me why did u take her with u all day? U gave her that pleasure and Im like I dont even kno ..... From that point on, I dont take them with me. I leave it there. We can not change who other pple are, we can only control who we are.

I saw that painting on All Access I think, aren't you one of the smaller characters in the corner and the big angel in the middle is supposed to represent something else?
