Jenny Lewis Anonymously Participates In Kanye's 808's Focus Group

It's true, Kanye's made the entire internet into a workshop for his new material. But he's still getting feedback the old fashioned way, approaching strangers in airports, armed with headphones and an iPod, asking for opinions on his unreleased tracks. At least according to Jenny Lewis, who tells EW.com:

We missed our flight and had to wait a couple of hours in the lounge. I noticed Kanye West was waiting for the same flight. He looked over and said, 'Excuse me, would you mind listening to my new track?' And so he put his headphones on my head and I listened to two of his new songs. He had no idea who I was. I guess he was doing research.

Best part of that story: Now we know what Kanye believes his core demo looks like. Anyway, sorry he's not a big Rilo fan, Jenny. But at least he didn't ask if you were "a real redhead."






Jenny Lewis is an American singer, musician, and actress.

Lewis is a founding member and co-lead singer of the indie rock band Rilo Kiley, and has also released a solo album. She is a former child actress.

...everyday is always something new and refreshing, I mean hey, you never know who meet or who you'll bump into unknowingly from minute to moment. I've featured Jenny Lewis and Rilo Liley before (sometime ago though)I believe the song I loveee is; Silver Lining. Love the message; straight to the point and meaningful.

By the way I don't mean the above statement in any negative way. I think you could easily successfully get some sort of program like that going. If you think about it you got tons of fans willing to tell you what they think and be perfectly honest. The reactions to Love Lockdown 1.0 is proof right there. Keep doing your thing and blessing the airwaves and headphones with something unique and new.

COOL! Right after high school I went to college outside of Jackson and I was at a music store at the Metro mall preveiwing some music when this dark skinned dude approached me and said," Hey miss would you do me a favor and listen to this Cd for me?" and I was like yeah. So, I walked over and put on the head phones and noticed that the dude on the cover was the same guy that asked me to listen to the Cd. It was David Banner! I was shocked and by the time I put two and two together he was out the door. Of course I was not going to go into groopy mode but it was a cool experience..
