I got caught up in the young love thing and it ended in a disaster that pretty much destroyed my soul. One day back in like 2003 I was driving with her and your single at the time “Through the Wire” came on the radio. I made her listen to it and introduced her to your music. It was ironic because back then she gave me this shirt that said “808” that I wore all the time. Years later when your album 808s and Heartbreak came out I told her to get it. It was uncanny how closely your lyrics on that album mirrored my own experience.
